It's been over 20 Years of Success at Rescue Dogs, Rescue Soldiers.

Perez
Connecting Soldiers with Dogs for a lifelong connection.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of Rescue Dogs Service Dogs, another heartwarming success story has unfolded. Handsome Perez, a once at-risk dog, has found his forever home with a loving family in Long Island. Now, he serves as an emotional support companion for a veteran firefighter living with PTSD stemming from 9/11. This incredible connection is a testament to the dedication of Rescue Dogs Service Dogs in transforming the lives of rescue dogs and the humans they help. Perez’s journey from rescue to life-changing companion highlights the power of love, training, and the commitment to building lifelong bonds.

Cadence
Cadence’s story is a heartwarming example of the impact our rescue can make. When a military family faced the heartbreak of relocating to Texas for deployment, they couldn’t bear the thought of giving up their beloved pit bull. That’s where we stepped in. We fostered Cadence, providing a safe and loving temporary home until her family was settled. The joy of reuniting this family with their cherished pet was indescribable.
Fostering is just one of the many services we proudly offer. There’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing our dogs and their families thrive. We remain steadfast in our commitment to the animals in our care, ensuring our facility is a place of love, support, and second chances.
Success Stories
At Rescue Dogs, Rescue Soldiers, our mission to transform the lives of at-risk dogs and the people they help shines through in every success story. Yoda, a remarkable rescue, is currently continuing his training in the Rikers Rovers 8-week program. Soon, he will be ready for adoption and eager to find his forever family.
We’re thrilled to celebrate the journeys of other graduates like Scherer and Roxy. Once rescued from a shelter, Scherer was trained as a therapy and pet assist dog and is now providing vital support to Veteran Ed, helping him navigate daily challenges. Meanwhile, Roxy, a sweet RDRS graduate of the juvenile 8-week training program, found her forever home with a corrections officer who fell in love with her during her stay. These stories highlight the life-changing impact of our programs—for dogs and the people who need them most.
